A man was shot multiple times and left for dead in a yard in North Nashville.
Police confirmed around 10:15a.m. on Monday that they have a possible suspect in custody.
Metro Nashville Police officers said the incident happened early Monday morning at 1:30a.m. on Wheless Street near 16th Avenue North.
The victim is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Police have not released his name.
The victim was not forthcoming with police officers about what happened, so officers have not determined motive at this time.
Tracey Manning woke up to the sound of gunfire and heard screams.
Manning said, "This are right here is where the problem's at. my Finace got shot going up the street to see his mother. A friend we know got gunned down right there. It's just too much going on around here."
Police said an unknown number of suspects fled the scene in a four door vehicle.
Manning said she's scared to go outside.
Manning said, "I have 3 children who play in this yard, I don't even feel safe letting them play out here."
