NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Vanderbilt University undergraduate student has tested positive for coronavirus.

School officials said Saturday the student is a non-residential undergraduate, who has been on campus the past week. They are currently self-isolating off campus.

The university says they are working with public health officials to follow-up with anyone who may have been exposed.

This is Vanderbilt's first confirmed on-campus case of COVID-19. Previously a student who had been studying abroad had contracted the virus. That student did not return to Nashville.

Earlier this week Vanderbilt made the decision to move all classes to an online or alternative learning format for the rest of the year. They also required all residential students move off-campus by this Sunday.

As of Saturday afternoon, Tennessee has 32 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 14 in Davidson County.
