The property that was home to a longtime grocery store in East Nashville is now up for sale.
The owner of Bill Martin Foods confirmed the property is being sold to developers. If the future buyer wants to keep the store open, they will continue operating it.
The store, located on Fatherland Street, has been a fixture of East Nashville for years. Its founder and namesake, Bill Martin, died in 2017. He was 96-years-old.
Martin, also a veteran, owned and operated the local store and served the community for more than 50 years.
