NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A local business fighting against a big time developer to save parking in Midtown.

Parking near Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital is typically at a premium, and that is especially true for other businesses in the area.

But pretty soon a developers is going to get rid of this surface lot and build, you guessed it, a new hotel.

Here's why neighbors are upset. Helen Rogers runs a law firm next door.

They're inside of the Wind in the Willows Mansion which was build back in 1906. If this developers gets their way, a seven story hotel will be put in essentially on top of their building.

And not only will it add more traffic, but the plans right now would do away with any parking Helen has for her business.

Plus the hotel would only have about 70 parking spaces when city ordinance mandates a building of that size have at least 200.
