Public Meetings Held On I-440 Reconstruction Plan

As more people move into Middle Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Transportation officials must fix one of middle Tennessee's most problematic roadways: I-440.

The entire corridor is crumbling. TDOT is holding meetings to make sure you know what happens next.
Right now, there are three different options to fix the interstate.

"The design-build process that we're suing to award a contract on I-440, it's complicated. And we have given three choices to our design-build teams, and we want to lay out those choices to the public and make sure they knew it's gonna be one of these three options," said TDOT Spokesperson BJ Doughty.

Take a look at the three plans here.

Two options include segmented closures of I-440, while the third will close the interstate completely.
A contract should be awarded next month, with work to begin this fall.
