One sought, another in custody after Springfield deadly shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WTVF) — Springfield police have asked the public’s help in locating a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting and subsequent crash from earlier in the week.

The shooting happened Wednesday night near 16th Avenue and Shelton Street. Officers were called to the scene after a vehicle crashed into the front of a home. Three teenagers were taken to area hospitals, but one of them later died.

Spring police identified two suspects in the case – 20-year-old Klyjuan Smith and 18-year-old Maleque Hudson. Both suspects will be charged with one count of criminal homicide.

Smith has been arrested and was booked into the Robertson County Jail.
