NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A nonprofit that supports local veterans put out a call for action. Operation Stand Down Tennessee says on Facebook they have an "URGENT NEED! Our stock of food to provide Veterans and their families is very low. With the holidays being right around the corner, we want to make sure we have plenty to provide those in need."
The nonprofit provides snacks to Veterans. If they’re hungry, the organization provides them with two snacks a day. They also create food boxes so that Veterans can take food home to their families. But supply is low.
"This provides an opportunity for the community to help them out," said John Krenson, CEO. They could also use gift cards to grocery stores so that veterans can buy food that's perishable, like dairy and meats, that the organization can't keep at their location.
If you gather a small donation, you can drop them off at our Nashville office, located at 1125 12th Ave S.
