NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The owner of the Prince's Hot Chicken says their location on Ewing Drive will remain closed for good.
The restaurant closed its doors "indefinitely" in December 2018 after a car crashed into the strip mall where it is located, after being open for nearly 40 years. Originally, they hoped to reopen in weeks after the crash, but that never happened.
Owner Andre Prince Jeffries said that the damage to the ceiling rafters has prevented the location from reopening, and that they were waiting on the landlord to fix the building.
The Ewing Drive location opened in 1989. Jeffries said this is the first time they haven't had a North Nashville location in the restaurant's 80-plus year history.
The restaurant will continue to operate out of its South Nashville location on Nolensville Pike. Jeffries says they are looking for a new North Nashville location and already planning for the food hall location that’s expected to open in April at the National Museum of African American Music.
They also have a food truck near 6th Avenue and Peabody Street.
