NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Many parents learned their child’s school will be out even longer than originally predicted during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

Metro Nashville Public Schools are currently on spring break, but students won't return after break as school was canceled at least through the end of the month.

Paula Foster and her wife work full time but she’s taken her work home with her so that she can watch her two kids.

She knows daycare isn’t a good option because of social distancing concerns.

Last week, her kids were still able to play with other kids on the block until one of the kids came down with a fever; so now everyone’s keeping to their own houses.

Even though cabin fever is starting to set in, Paula knows she’s one of the fortunate ones.

"I’m lucky, I have two beautiful kids. I have a home. I have support. But what about those folks who don’t and I’m concerned about those people," she said.

Like a lot of parents, she’s struggling to balance work and parenting duties.
