NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police is asking for several witnesses to come forward and share what they saw the night 29-year-old Alexis Chacon was murdered.

Surveillance footage from the Twice Daily market on Cane Ridge Road, showed at least five potential witnesses in-and-out of the frame as the suspects confronted Chacon.

As the suspects waved guns at Chacon, a nearby car with at least three people inside could be seen opening and closing their doors. Another man is seen walking just a few feet from Chacon and throwing something in the trash. One final man walks just out of frame toward the gas station, moments before the suspects began firing.

Police tell us late Wednesday that none of the potential witnesses stayed around long enough to offer a statement. They say the store clerk ran outside to help Chacon and shortly after, everyone else left before police arrived.

Now, police are hoping these witnesses and anyone with information on the suspects will contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. You can remain anonymous and a reward is being offered.

We spoke with the Chacon family once the surveillance footage was made public and they say they’re devastated by what appeared to be a random attack. They don’t recognize any of the men involved, but they’re hoping someone out there does.

Detectives are working leads for what was officially the 11th homicide in Metro Nashville in January. For perspective, there were seven homicides in January 2020 and five in January 2019.
