Original story:

Metro Nashville police said a man accused of attempted rape at a motel on June 13 has been identified.

On June 24, police asked for the public's help in locating and identifying the suspect, who they said tried to rape a female housekeeper at an Extended Stay on Elm Hill Pike. According to investigators, the victim was making a bed when the suspect entered the room and pushed her onto the bed.

She struggled with him and began kicking and screaming. At some point, another man walked into the room and the suspect ran.

The man was later identified as 34-year-old Charles Craig, who is wanted for attempted aggravated rape.

Police said a witness took cell phone photos of Craig.

Police said a woman who had rented the room then approached the suspect and the second man and told them to get into a black Chevrolet Traverse. They drove off together.

Investigators are working to identify the woman who rented the room and the second man.

Police said Craig has light brown hair and tattoos above his left eyebrow and on his neck, left arm and both hands. He is approximately 5’6” tall.

Anyone who recognizes him should contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
