NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Nashville Predators' Austin Watson was placed in the National Hockey League's Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program to receive treatment for his ongoing issues with alcohol abuse.
On Tuesday, the league announced Watson was placed in Stage Two of the SABH program.
Under the terms of the joint program, Watson will be suspended without pay until cleared for on-ice competition by the program administrators.
Watson pled no contest in July of 2018 to misdemeanor domestic assault and was suspended by the National Hockey League for unacceptable off-ice conduct.
