NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The son of fallen Metro Nashville police Officer John Anderson was gifted a rocking horse from Remembering Officers' Children on Monday.
The officer's son, 2-year-old Gavin, was given the rocking horse by Shannon Parson, the founder of the Georgia-based group.
Since 2018, Parson has delivered 29 rocking horses.
Anderson was killed during the early hours of the Fourth of July in 2019 in a fiery crash near downtown Nashville. He was hit and killed by a teen who was fleeing from police for a possible traffic stop and sped through flashing red lights at an intersection. She crashed into Anderson's patrol cruiser and the vehicle then slammed into a light pool.
The driver, Jayona Brown, who was 17 years old at the time of the crash, has since pleaded guilty in the Davidson County Criminal Court to all charges, including vehicular homicide.
