Seven people hospitalized after shots fired outside house in North Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Seven people were rushed to hospitals Sunday morning after a shooting in North Nashville.

According to Metro Police the shooting happened at 2 a.m. in the backyard of 1407 Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard. Six women and one man, all aged 19-22 were shot. Five of them were treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the other two were taken to Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital. All seven had non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the shooting started when two groups of men got into a fight and exchanged gunfire. The victims were caught in the crossfire and were not involved in the dispute.

One suspect was described as a black man in his late teens or early 20s. He has dreadlocks with blonde highlights, was wearing an orange t-shirt, and light blue jeans.
