Slow Start Dooms Preds In Game 7 Loss To Jets

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A season of high expectations came screeching to a halt Thursday night in Smashville. 

Winnipeg defeated the Preds 5-1 to send the capacity crowd home unhappy.

The Jets jumped on Nashville early in the decisive Game Seven, scoring two goals in two minutes in the first period sending Pekka Rinne to the bench.  

A P.K. Subban power play goal in the first period wasn't enough to overcome the relentless Jets pressure. 

Winnipeg advances to the Western Conference finals to take on Vegas. 

The Predators end the season with President’s Trophy, given to the team with the most points at the end of the regular season.
