NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A powerful storm system continues to move east and that has prompted a Storm 5 Alert for our area today. Wind, hail, locally heavy downpours and isolated tornadoes are the main threats.
Our risk for strong to severe storms has been upgraded from a level one to a level two for areas east of Nashville. Nashville is in a marginal (level 1) risk for severe storms.
Wind and hail are the main threats, but isolated tornadoes are possible. The best window is from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. as the system moves from west to east.
Behind this system, we'll see a dry day for most of Friday but there could be a few morning showers to the East. More rain and a few storms will return Friday night into Saturday.
