FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Franklin tattoo artist is doing free eyebrow microblading for cancer survivors.
Microblading is a tattooing technique that uses tiny needles to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. Selena Polgardy does microblading at Golden Yeti Art Collective.
"I also do scalp micropigmentation which is another thing that can help to input pigment for their hair, so we do a couple different things but the brow is the main focus. I love brows!" Polgardy said, "I gave them their glam back, it makes me so happy because it’s giving them confidence again."
On Tuesday, Selena's mom, Karen Polgardy, got a microblading procedure done. She's also a cancer survivor, and Selena's motivation.
Jenifer Niederwerfer is a breast cancer survivor, and one of Selena's clients. After chemotherapy, her eyebrows became thin so she's in the process of getting several treatments done.
"I don’t mind going out without makeup, but I would never go out without my eyebrows," Polgardy said.
Jenifer can't wait to see the finished product. For 7 years she's drawn her eyebrows onto her face using makeup. Selena hopes other cancer survivors will look into microblading.
"It’s really a blessing to give back, and to help a lot of people feel a little bit better," Polgardy said.
Right now Selena is doing the microblading for free so she launched a Go Fund Me pageif you would like to help her expand her free services.
