Nearly 700 pounds of marijuana was seized during a traffic stop along Interstate 40 in Dickson County.
Tennessee Highway Patrol officials said the incident happened Sunday in Dickson County.
Troopers pulled over a vehicle that was towing another vehicle on a trailer and found that the license plate was concealed with a plate cover.
They said the driver, Jorge Gusman, was acting nervous and fled when troopers were checking the VIN number.
After a quick pursuit, he was apprehended. Officials said they searched the vehicle and found 28 bales of marijuana, weighing 691 pounds, under blankets.
“Our Interdiction Plus team does excellent investigative work keeping drug dealers off our roadways,” Colonel Tracy Trott said. “It is our duty to make sure our communities are safe and drug free.”
Gusman was booked in the Dickson County Jail on a $105,000 bond.
