CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One of the men injured during a shooting Wednesday night in Clarksville has died.

Clarksville Police said 26-year-old Eric Hardy succumbed to his injuries after a shooting at what appeared to be a large party. Police were called to the 1000 block of College Street around 9:30 p.m.

The first officer arrived within a minute of the shooting being dispatched. He described the scene as chaotic, saying there was a mass exodus of people leaving the parking lot.

Police say the crowd was apparently "celebrating together" when the shots were fired.

The crowd knew of one person being injured in the shooting, but it wasn't until a short time later that the second victim was discovered. The second victim was found in the area of 1030 Main Street.

The other victim, only identified as a 44-year-old man, was still in critical condition.

Officials didn't have any suspect description. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, and Tennessee Highway Patrol.
