Why did a Williamson County pet hospital euthanize a missing dog just hours after it was found?

That's the question the dog's owner wants answered.

Charles Jones said his dog, Moo, went missing about two weeks ago. About a week later, he said Moo was found and dropped off at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Cool Springs.

Blue Pearl told Charles they euthanized the dog -- something Charles thinks they didn't have to do so soon after receiving Moo.

Blue Pearl, though, said it was a different story.

They said they first checked with Williamson County Animal Center, who's in charge of dealing with stray animals. Blue Pearl said in a statement:

"Moo was in grave condition, and our skilled and compassionate veterinarians provided him with the best possible care while our staff tried to locate his owner. After updating the shelter staff on Moo's deteriorating condition, they made the decision to humanely euthanize Moo to end his suffering."
