NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The YMCA of Middle Tennessee will begin a phased reopening of seven locations outside of Davidson County beginning Monday, May 4.
Gyms and facilities will open with limited services at the following locations:
- Brentwood Family YMCA (Concord Road)
- Clarksville Area YMCA
- Franklin Family YMCA
- Maryland Farms YMCA
- North Rutherford YMCA (Smyrna)
- Robertson County Family YMCA (Springfield)
- Sumner County Family YMCA (Hendersonville)
Governor Bill Lee and the Economic Recovery Group announced that gyms and exercise facilities in 89 counties will be allowed to reopen Friday, May 1. Gov. Lee encouraged business owners and gym goers to take the Tennessee Pledge, operating at 50% capacity and adhering to social distancing guidelines. However there are no rules or restrictions in place, only recommendations.
Services offered at YMCA of Middle Tennessee locations will be primarily restricted to the main wellness areas during the initial phase of reopening, and those areas will have a limited capacity.
Areas and services like group exercise classes, swimming pools and saunas, Y-Play and YAC services, locker rooms, coffee bars, water fountains, and all other programming will continue to be closed or canceled.
The YMCA of Middle Tennessee asks members to bring a mask and wear it wherever possible, especially in common areas. Members will be subject to a temperature check when arriving.
All YMCA locations Davidson County remain closed at the direction of Metro Nashville public health officials.
