Lower Broadway shut down as crews set up stages and booths for the SEC men's basketball tournament.

Eight teams were set to face off on the court Thursday.

The Tennessee Volunteers beat the Auburn Tigers at Bridgestone Arena Wednesday 97-59 to advance.

Thursday they have been scheduled to play Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. on the SEC Network following a matchup between Florida and Arkansas.

For the late games, Ole Miss was set to play Alabama at 6 p.m. and Georgia was ready to take on Mississippi State in the night cap.

The tournament was also bringing in big bucks to Music City.

In the past four years, Metro Council estimated the tournament has pumped about $16 million into the economy.

In 2015, the Big Dance brought in an estimated $18.6 million to Nashville's economy.

According to data that NewsChannel 5 collected, visitors pull out $265 from their wallets each day they spend here.

The contract for having these tournaments in Nashville has been set to continue for the next ten years.
