(WTVF) — A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for counties across the Cumberland Plateau Monday.

This advisory goes into effect at Midnight and lasts until Noon for Putnam, Overton, Cannon, DeKalb, and Coffee counties. The advisory will last until 6 p.m. Monday for Pickett, Fentress, White, Cumberland, Warren, Grundy, and Van Buren counties.

As temperatures drop tonight, rain showers will transition to snow showers along the Cumberland Plateau early Monday morning. A dusting to a 1/2 inch of snow is possible in these locations, with locally higher amounts up to an inch. This could cause slippery road conditions during the Monday morning and evening commute.

While we could see a few flurries across the Metro area, we are not expecting any accumulation or travel impacts outside of the Plateau. Temperatures will be much cooler tomorrow with highs only in the 30s and low 40s.
