Today will be a classic summer day, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s that will feel more like the low 90s.
Tomorrow and Saturday, we'll have a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could become strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours as the main threats.
Now, it won't be a washout, but it will provide our best opportunity for some much-needed liquid sunshine. Check out the graphic below — we're still running a rainfall deficit.
Next week, the heat and humidity will really begin to ramp up, with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values ranging from 100° to 105°.
