In Depth:
Skies have cleared out for our afternoon, leaving us with lots of sunshine. Temperatures are a few degrees below average but it's still a stunning day as highs near 70.
We'll see a brief warm-up to start the workweek. Highs will reach close to 80 degrees, thanks to a strong breeze that will gust at times between 20 to 25 mph out of the southwest.

An unsettled pattern returns Tuesday and it'll stick around for a few days. A few showers will develop early Tuesday morning. Later in the day, rain chances increase and rumbles of thunder can't be ruled out.
A slow moving front will finally push through on Wednesday, bringing beneficial rain all across the mid-south. While severe weather is not expected, localized flooding can't be ruled out by Wednesday evening.
There's a good chance areas south of I-40 could pick up 2 inches of rainfall.
Behind this system, cooler air fill ins which brings our temperatures near seasonal highs.
