An arrest has been made in connection with a homicide in East Nashville.

For weeks, Metro Nashville Police described the alleged gunman as armed and dangerous. With the help of surveillance video and his girlfriend, Travis Harris was taken into custody overnight and charged with criminal homicide.

He’s been accused of fatally shooting Quintin Brooks in the parking lot of McFerrin Park Community Center.

According to an arrest report, Harris’ girlfriend dropped him off so he could confront Brooks.

The incident apparently stemmed from an argument the girlfriend had with Brooks, the father of her child. When she drove away, the encounter between both men turned violent.

Police said as Brooks was quickly reversing across the parking lot, Harris could be seen running and shooting after him.

Brooks' car was found with multiple bullet holes in the windshield, passenger side door and hood.

Harris’ girlfriend said she knew they were going to fight but didn't see him with a weapon or expect gunfire.
