LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WTVF) — The mother charged in connection with the baby Addilyn abuse case is speaking out for the first time and says she’s been getting death threats.

Brooklyn Tidwell was released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond. She’s been charged with aggravated child neglect in connection with what happened to her daughter, Addilyn.

This past January, the child was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries – the result police say of an awful beating.

Addilyn's father, Michael Fisher, has been charged with attempted homicide.

Tidwell spoke by phone on Tuesday, saying she’s been getting death threats in the case and wants to fight the criminal charges to clear her name. She says she had nothing to do with the abuse and was asleep, not knowing it was happening.

She does hope to one day get back with her daughter.

Addilyn was released from the hospital and in the custody of other family members.

The District Attorney says he is moving forward with the prosecution of both Tidwell and Fisher.
