NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Injured Tennessee State University football player Christion Abercrombie plans to return to school to finish his degree.
His mother, Staci Abercrombie, confirmed Friday that Christion is planning on completing his degree in sports management but added that they don’t know exactly when he’ll return.
The Tigers player collapsed on the sideline during the TSU-Vanderbilt game on September 29.
He was later transferred to a hospital in Atlanta that specializes in brain injuries.
“God is working a miracle”
Staci Abercrombie has continuously posted updates on Christion’s condition throughout his recovery, saying “God is working a miracle.”
Nearly a month after his injury, Christion was able to wave his hand, give a hug and whispered a response when asked if he could talk.
A couple weeks later, he was able to eat his first meal.
On Monday, she tweeted that it’d been one month since he’s been at home.
✔️Today marks 1️⃣ month of God’s remarkable miracle of being at home! The feeling is undescribable❗️All I can say is THANK GOD🙏‼️ https://t.co/wCTwhrilo8
