NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — In his first television interview since being let go as Vanderbilt basketball coach in March, Bryce Drew joined Steve Layman in the NewsChannel 5 studio.
Drew discussed the disappointment of the 0-18 SEC season that led to the school’s decision to move in a different direction. Among the topics discussed include Darius Garland’s unfortunate injury, the hope he had in the program moving forward and what’s next for him.
Drew says he has fielded inquiries about his coaching availability from both college and the NBA, but plans to take the year off to study different coaches and the game before jumping back onto a bench.
