A GoFundMe account has raised thousands of dollars for the family of a Dickson County deputy who was killed in the line of duty.

Officials said Sgt. Daniel Baker was killed Wednesday morning after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle. His body was found inside his patrol car.

The manhunt for the suspect remains ongoing. So far, there have been no credible sightings of 31-year-old Steven Wiggins, who is considered armed and dangerous.

A GoFundMe has been set up to assist Baker's family. Donations can also be made to the Sgt. Daniel Baker Memorial Fund at any Tri-Star Bank location.

Dickson County Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe said Baker joined the team in 2008. Bledsoe said he was one of their best deputies and quickly moved up the ranks at the sheriff's office.

Baker was a veteran, having served the US Marines Corps before he was honorably discharged.

He leaves behind a wife and young daughter.
