NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Jury selection began Wednesday in the trial of a man accused of shooting and killing one woman at an Antioch church more than two years ago.

The jury was seated Friday afternoon. They'll be part of deciding the fate of Emanuel Samson.

He allegedly opened fire at the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch on September 24, 2017.

His trial is set to begin Monday, May 20.

Samson is accused of killing of 39-year-old Melanie Crow and injuring several others in the mass shooting.

At the time, he was indicted on 43 criminal counts, including murder. Police said Samson initially admitted to the shooting but later pleaded otherwise.

The District Attorney announced he would not seek the death penalty in this case.
