Man accused of killing ex-girlfriend arrested after being discharged from hospital

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend in Nashville has been arrested after being discharged from the hospital.

Metro Nashville police said 39-year-old Jermaine Bailey had been hospitalized with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head after fatally shooting his former girlfriend, 42-year-old Shalinda Gordon.

Gordon was found shot at a Netherlands Drive home back on December 16. She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.

Bailey was also taken to the hospital, where he was discharged on Thursday. He was charged with criminal homicide and held without bond.

A memorial service for Gordon will be held at The Lab located at 624A Jefferson Street on at 6:30 p.m.
