NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Niido renters have made $5-million in earned income through a home-sharing partnership with Airbnb.

The building was previously called the Olmsted, and it changed hands last year. Now, all the units have a short term rental permit. While some renters hated the change, others like Crystal and Luis Rodriguez embraced it.

They rent Loft Lula Uno, Dos, and Tres. All of them are posted on Airbnb.

Luis Rodriguez said, "It's just been amazing we're very blessed, it's a great opportunity for us."

Luis and Crystal met several years ago in downtown Nashville as Luis is a drummer, and Crystal is a lifestyle photographer from Canada.

Rodriguez said, "I was playing downtown and Crystal walked in when I was playing, and I couldn't take my eyes off her."

They recently got married, and they clean and manage the units together.

"Everything is stress free right now because we don't have to rely so much on I have to play this many shows or she has to shoot these many shoots, we're just really enjoying life right now, where it's not stressful at all," Rodriguez said, "Airbnb giving us this opportunity is the best thing in our lives so far that has happened."

In the music and photography business, finances can be a roller-coaster so some financial stability is helpful.

Crystal Rodriguez said, "I think Nashville is concentrated with touring musicians, and so people who live here, they're on the road so often, it's just an opportunity to be like 'Okay let's not lose money, and make money while we're on the road working.'"

As they make sure their Airbnb customers are satisfied, they're saving money for a house so they can one day settle down here.

Depending on demand, their units can cost anywhere from $50 to $300 a night depending on the season. People who stay in the apartments have access to the pool, the workout facility with a rock climbing wall, and all amenities at Niido.
