A 14-year-old fugitive believed to be responsible for a shooting near Pearl Cohn High School in Nashville surrendered to police.

According to Metro Nashville Police officials, Rico Ransom surrendered Thursday at juvenile detention.

He was wanted for the February 9 shooting that critically wounded a 17-year-old across from Pearl Cohn High School.

The shooting along with several other violent crimes involving teens prompted the Metro Nashville Police Department to form a task force to crack down on the crime.
