LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WTVF) — It’s been one year since a Lawrenceburg firefighter was killed in the line of duty.

Engineer Jason Dickey was killed and four other firefighters were injured while battling a blaze on Hood Lakes Road back on February 12, 2018.

The firefighters went inside to rescue an elderly couple, but five became trapped when the roof collapsed.

The men had to be extricated from the home and were taken to an area hospital, where Dickey succumbed to his injuries.

Dickey, an 11-year career firefighter, was 38-years-old. He left behind a wife and four children.
