Middle Tennessee is working on a new contract with a raise for basketball coach Kermit Davis, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Davis led the Blue Raiders to one of the biggest upsets in NCAA Tournament history, beating two seed Michigan State in the first round. The Blue Raiders then lost to Syracuse to cap a 25-10 season that included a Conference USA Tournament title.
In his 14 seasons as Middle Tennessee coach Davis is 259-159 with five postseason appearances, including the school's only two NCAA Tournament appearances since 1989.
