Breezy winds with highs around 90 return Wednesday as southerly winds ramp up across the Mid-South.
We're also watching a disturbance in the Gulf. This moisture is expected to stay mainly to our south on Thursday, but it will still bring increased upperlevel moisture into the area.
At the same time, a cold front will move southward.
As these two systems approach from opposite directions, showers and thunderstorms are expected from Thursday through Friday afternoon. Some storms could become strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours as the main concerns.
Saturday looks bright and pleasant, with highs in the upper 80s.
