The rain is here, and it’s going to stick around over the next few days. A stalled frontal boundary is draped through the mid-state and is the focus for rain. Overnight it will lift back to north as a disturbance moves in, increasing coverage of rain across the area for the morning drive. By midday, the rain is breaking up, and it will taper off in the afternoon with spotty storms possible, especially west.

While widespread severe weather is not expected, an isolated storm with gusty winds or even a quick spin up tornado can't be ruled out tomorrow.

I know when you glance at the Memorial Day Weekend forecast and see all the rain chances, it can look a little daunting. But don’t fret ... there will still be several dry hours for outdoor activities and fun.

This unsettled pattern won't clear out our drought conditions, but it will definitely help. The good news is that it will be slow to move out, allowing the rainfall to soak into the soil much better than a quick one-day event would.
