If you have outdoor plans this weekend, the forecast is looking favorable across much of the Mid-State. A few isolated showers and storms may develop this afternoon, mainly across the Cumberland Plateau and areas east, where rain chances remain around 20%. While an isolated storm could briefly become strong, the overall severe threat is very low. Any stronger storms that do develop may produce gusty winds and heavy downpours.

That said, most communities will remain dry, and there is no need to cancel or alter outdoor plans. If you're heading to GEODIS Park this evening to cheer on Nashville SC, expect pleasant August weather with mainly clear skies.

Looking ahead to Sunday evening, the Titans host the Seahawks in their first preseason home game of the year and the final preseason season at the current Nissan Stadium. The weather could not look much better for football, with mainly clear skies, low humidity, and comfortable temperatures expected throughout the game. If you're planning to spend the evening downtown supporting the Titans, you'll have fantastic weather waiting for you.
