NASHVILLE, Tenn. — An inmate at the Max Correctional Center at Harding Place is charged with ambushing a Davidson County corrections officer.
Andre Lewis, 25, is charged with aggravated assault, especially aggravated kidnapping and attempted escape after an attack involving Officer David Farmby.
The attack took place on December 8. According to court documents, Officer Farmby was opening Lewis' cell door when the inmate punched him in the face, flipped him, beat him unconscious and locked him inside his cell.
The officer suffered a fractured skull and needed dozens of staples on his scalp.

Lewis is a convicted killer. In 2014, he was convicted of reckless homicide.
In July, Lewis was arrested after he entered a woman’s bedroom and tried to remove her clothes, according to police.
