The death of a woman whose body was possibly left in a dumpster has been ruled to be a homicide.
The ruling on the December 2016 death of 27-year-old Ashley Brown came Friday from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities said her body was found on December 21 at AAA Disposal in the 1100 block of Freightliner Drive.
Officials said Brown was reported missing on December 17. According to reports, the last time Brown was seen was when she left a friend’s apartment in the 200 block of 25th Avenue North.
Police said it’s believed her body had been in a dumpster before it was taken to the refuse facility.
"Someone knows something. Someone knows how she ended up in the trash," Julie Brown, Ashley's mother, told NewsChannel 5 in December.
Anyone with information on Brown’s murder has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
