MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A trial date has been set in the Kelsey Ketron insurance fraud case.
The trial is scheduled for April 20. Her next court appearance is scheduled for February 10.
Ketron faces nearly 70 counts – including fraud and money laundering – in connection with her family's insurance business, Universal International Insurance. She's also accused of stealing more than $65,000 from her father's various campaign accounts and his political action committee.
Both she and her father, Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron, have pleaded not guilty in the case. Mayor Ketron is the representative of Universal International Insurance.
Back in November, Kelsey Ketron was arrested and spent several days in jail before posting bond.
She has been at the center of an ongoing fraud investigation uncovered by NewsChannel 5 Investigates. Several customers said they paid for policies but when they filed claims, they discovered they had no coverage.
