Kelsey Gibbs is an Emmy Award-winning reporter who joined NewsChannel 5 in January 2019 as a multimedia journalist.
Before moving to Nashville, she worked at KFOR-TV (NBC) in Oklahoma City, covering a wide range of stories — from devastating wildfires to high-speed chases.
A proud Illinoisan, Kelsey earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Illinois Springfield. She began her reporting career at WCIA-TV (CBS) in Champaign, Illinois, primarily in the Capitol Bureau as a political reporter.
In addition to her work in broadcast journalism, Kelsey is an adjunct professor at Lipscomb University, where she teaches a communications course — combining her two passions of storytelling and educating the next generation of journalists.
