Amelia is the traffic anchor for NewsChannel 5 This Morning. She joined NC5 in July 2021 as a morning reporter. As a proud Brentwood native, it was always important to Amelia to build her career in her hometown, so she could one day raise a family in the same community that raised her.
In January 2026, Amelia and her husband Matt, also a Nashville native, welcomed their first child during Nashville’s historic ice storm. Outside the newsroom, the couple enjoys serving and volunteering together throughout Middle Tennessee.
Amelia’s commitment to service and community involvement has also been recognized locally. In recent years, she was named one of Nashville Lifestyle's Most Beautiful for her volunteer work and was a finalist for the Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer Awards.
Before returning home, Amelia worked at WBIR in Knoxville and WEHT/WTVW in Evansville, Indiana, where she covered major breaking news, severe weather and nationally recognized human-interest stories. Throughout her career, she has reported on everything from natural disasters and criminal investigations to stories that brought communities together across the country.
Amelia graduated from Franklin Road Academy before earning her degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she studied communication studies with minors in journalism and theatre. During college, she interned at WATE in Knoxville, Seacrest Studios at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and worked as a DJ for UT’s student radio station.
